#1 Tip, if you are using internet explorer. Up at the very top of your screen, that you are viewing, you will see the title of this page. Now right below that you will see file, edit, then view. Click on view, then click on source. You are now viewing the html source code for this page. In your title tag, you should have some of the Keywords that you want the search engines to hit on. Take our first link for an example, WoodHaven Homes Click on the link, then view, then source. The only thing the title says is "WoodHaven Homes". This tells the search engines nothing about Wood Haven Homes. Below is a list of keywords, that all home builders in texas should use. You can mix them up any way you like. WoodHaven Homes, should have a title something like this, " WoodHaven Homes, We build Affordable New Homes In the Dallas Texas area." If a person is searching for affordable new homes in dallas, then Wood Haven Homes would be in the list, The trick is to be at the top of the list. Search Engines are built by people, so you as a person will always look at the title when you buy a book. Most books have a title and then a sub title or discription on the out side of the book. Your website or webpage should have the same, and you do it in the title tag. When you put keywords in the title tag, you will go up a few notches on the list. To go up a few more notches in the search engines, read on.
#2 Tip, maybe the most important tip you will find about ranking in the search engines. I have looked at most of your index pages and most Home Builders websites do not have any meta tags. You must have meta tags. Meta tags tell the search engines what to do with your web page. Lets start with the meta tag keywords. Keywords are words that you want the search engine to find when a person is searching on the internet. For example, you are a custom home builder, and you want to hook up with people that want a custom home built. A person, knows that they want a custom home built, but they have no idea about who builds custom homes. So they will go to a search engine and search for custom home builders. If you have no meta tags, and no meta tag for keywords, the search engine will not list your site for your keyword. Take a couple, they want a new home, they search for new homes, they are overwhelmed with all the listings for new homes. They are not looking for a new home in atlanta, so they narrow their search to where they want to live. Lets say frisco texas, if you build new homes in frisco texas, then you want the search engines to know this, and one of your keywords would be "new homes frisco texas" now if you have any of these words in any combination somewhere in the content of your webpage and in the meta tag for keywords, the search engine will list your site. Will you be listed as number one, maybe, it depends. Later I will show you how to get listed as high as you can go, but for now. You need to get the meta tags installed into your web pages.
